The DW1S4X-SK is a sample kit of our 4 to 1 shrink ratio dual wall adhesive lined heat shrink tubing that includes a variety of sizes.

The DW1S4X dual wall adhesive lined Polyolefin 4:1 ratio heat shrink shrink tubing is used for a wide variety of applications. Dual wall heat shrink tubing can be used to seal out the environmental elements, provide cable strain relief, and hold cables to specific shapes. The inner hot melt adhesive lining melts as the heat shrink tube reduces in size and conforms to the shape of the connection to seal out the environmental elements. An additional benefit of dual wall adhesive lined heat shrink tubing is that it stiffens after shrinking. The addition stiffness provides a more durable protective cover than standard heat shrink tubing.

When using dual wall heat shrink tubing you want to consider the irregularities of the shape you are trying to seal. If you use larger diameter tubing rather than a closely sized shrink tube you will get more adhesive to fill in the irregularities of the object to be sealed. The adhesive properties of of the adhesive lining are very similar to the characteristics of common hot melt glue and adheres to metals, plastics, rubbers and fabrics but keep in mind porous objects will have stronger adhesion. In some cases scuffing smooth objects will improve the adhesive properties of the dual wall heat shrink tubing.
